FHKI Group 2 (Hong Kong Building Materials & Construction Industries Council) and Young Executive Council (YEC) successfully co-organised the visit to Northern Metropolis on 4 May 2026 (Monday). The event was met with enthusiastic response, attracting the participation of nearly 30 members.
The study tour was honoured by the presence and support of the Hon Ray Wong, Legislative Council Representative – Industrial (First), who led members on site visits to gain deeper insights into the overall planning framework and latest development progress of the Northern Metropolis.
During the tour, participants visited the Hung Shui Kiu Community Liaison Centre, Kwu Tung North Site Office, and the Loop Innovation & Technology Landmark. Representatives from the Development Bureau and the Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) provided in‑depth briefings on key development areas, including the Northern Metropolis, Hung Shui Kiu / Ha Tsuen New Development Area, Kwu Tung North New Development Area, San Tin Technopole, and the Hong Kong Park of the Loop Shenzhen‑Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Cooperation Zone. The briefings covered planning concepts, development blueprints, and latest construction progress, enabling members to enhance their understanding of Hong Kong’s future development from policy, urban planning, and engineering practice perspectives.
